Josh Hoven
Event Director

Growing up just outside Vancouver, BC, Josh Hoven started dancing at age 11. He trained in a wide array of styles such as Jazz, Contemporary, Tap, Ballet, Hip-Hop, and Musical Theatre amongst others. As a young dancer, his determination led him to perform on shows produced by both Disney+ and Netflix, and commercially with brands like Duracell, Boy Dance Magazine, and Slurpee Canada. He has had the opportunity to assist at conventions and competitions, and work with esteemed choreographers such as Heather Laura Grey, Nathan Fadear and Emma Willey to name a few.
At the age of 18, he moved to Toronto, ON to study a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance at Toronto Metropolitan University. After pursuing a dance degree for two years he transitioned into a more business oriented program—Creative Industries (BA). He is now in his last year of studies, continuing to pursue his passion for the arts, with concentrations in Acting, Dance, and the Music Industry. As well as performing as a dancer, Josh is a natural leader who occasionally teaches dancers across Canada, most recently captaining his award winning high school and university dance teams to multiple victories.
Josh now works at VIEW Dance Challenge as an Event Director and Contract Manager, travelling around Canada enjoying every inspiring dance community. He plans to continue his career in the dance industry, specifically focusing on creating opportunities for aspiring male dancers. He thoroughly enjoys getting to know dancers, teachers, and parents across the nation, and hopes to meet you in person one day soon! @joshuahoven
